How to understand Enoch 104:12 - 105:1-2In the Swedish 1901 translation of this part of the Enoch text, I think the message of Enoch has been much more clearer translated than in the English translations. The Swedish translation is based on a German translation, and seems to have a direct aim at us who lives now. I have completed the Schodde English text with the Swedish interpretation, so you'll see what I mean. First the Schodde text, and then the completed text:
1. "But when they write all my words in rectitude in their languages, and do not change or abridge anything of my words, but write all in rectitude, all that I have first testified on their account, then I know another mystery, that books will be given to the just and to the wise for joy and for rectitude and for much wisdom.
And the books will be given to them, and they will believe in them and will rejoice in them; and then all the just, who have learned all the paths of rectitude out of them, will be rewarded.
And in those days, says the Lord, "they will call and testify over the sons of the earth concerning their wisdom: show it to them, for ye are their leaders, and the rewards over all the earth. For I and my son will join with them to eternity in the paths of rectitude in their lives. And peace will be to you; rejoice, ye children of rectitude, in truth!"
2. What comes forth much clearer here is that when the people of God starts to translate the books (meaning the five parts of the book) of Enoch rightly in the last days, these books will be given (by God) to His people, and they will begin to believe in them again. And then there is a direct calling to the leaders in the last days, to publish and to preach about this book!
When I was working with a modernisation of the Swedish text, and read that and really understood what it says, I felt as if the words were aimed directly to me. It was like that which I was doing was foretold, 5000 years ago, and that this old prophet's words were in effect directly into my life.
I encourage you to do the same. Publish the book in your own language, if it's not done, or not newly done. Make sure it is correctly translated. Use this interlinear to check and compare. Who can do this better than the people of God? We have a calling to do so, and the blessing will be upon us, mightily. For the end is near, and this book is written for the last generation and will have a hugh role in things to come.

* That this is the correct meaning of the text is of course no news. Maybe you knew that all the time. But it needs to be told more boldly.

The book of Enoch seems to have a direct relationship with the end time senario of Revelation. In America, when one finds a mound of dead mummified "Nephalim" it is confiscated, yet they had 6 fingers on each hand, 6 toes on each foot and 2 rows of teeth. Some were 14 cubits tall- a measurement in the bible 6 inches more than our 12 inch foot- making theirs 18 inches. There were even giants in Russia 36 feet tall. Vikings had axes at least 10 ft tall. Dr. Chuck Missler in the Video " Return of the Nephalim " says that the Greek mythology of the Titian's embody the truth. Something seems to be left out of the bible- could it be the Angel battle of Revelation 12:7? Why is it when these mounds are found the remnants are confiscated. There is also another site called the Straight gate. And read Psalm 83. I believe the Time of Joshua was also in the time of Esther. The Beast with ten horns of Revelation is also in Psalm 83. They are Kingdoms. This all ties in together.

ReplyDeleteThe author of the "Book of Enoch" apparently WASN'T familiar with either Aramaic or Hebrew, judging from 6:6 in which he gives the derivation of the name of Mount "HERMON" as being based on the meaning of "swearing an oath". In neither language is it the word for "swear" or "oath" and is in fact derived from the Hebrew "HaRMoN" meaning "palace". The concept of the site being associated with the sex mating between "angels" and women could be based on the Hebrew-Egyptian words "HaR" for "mountain" and "MiN" for "pyramid". MiN was the name of the Egyptian god of SEX and the ERECT PHALLUS. THIS could be the meaning of the introductory words of the Book by the angels to Enoch and the "Righteous", "LIFT UP your eyes and YOUR HORNS"! Other than the UNcircumcised PENIS, WHAT other "horns" would huMANS have??
ReplyDeleteThe indication is that the author of the ORIGINAL composition was a GREEK Jew. He was basing the act of "swearing an oath" for the naming of Mount HERMon on the ancient GREEK practice of swearing oaths on HERMS, or the piles of stones called in English "cairns" set up as boundary and site markers in GREECE in PRE-Christian times and dedicated to the "God of Ways" HERMES.
The idea that the author of the ORIGINAL text was a GREEK-JEW of Alexandria Egypt, and therefore definitely NOT "HeNoCH" the Biblical Patriarch, can be deduced from a GREEK interest in the composition that the Judes did NOT display by including it in their scriptural Canon based on a SOLAR Calendar! The LEVITICAL JUDES used a LUNAR-based calendar using THIRTEEN MONTHS of 28 days each summing to a 364 day Year; ONE SHORT of the SOLAR YEAR of 365 days. But the GREEKS, LIKE the EGYPTIANS, used a 365 day SOLAR-based Year calendar. HeNoCH was supposed to have lived 365 YEARS, according to the "Book of Genesis"; and this SOLAR connection would have stood out to a GREEK and an EGYPTIAN reading the text. The ESSENE JUDES, however, UNlike the "Leviticals", ALSO USED the 365 day SOLAR calendar and THAT is WHY the fragments of "Enoch" were found among the Qumran scrolls!!

ReplyDeleteI tend to agree with you that the volcanic lava field of Al-Safa makes a good candidate for the "Cauldron of God", though it doesn't smoke or emit any flame. On the other hand, there is an equally good candidate slightly southwest of it in the slope of the Hauran ridge leading down to Lake Tiberias near the ruins of the village of Khirbet Berg. i have not been able to identify it on GOOGLE satellite maps or determine if it is completely natural. It appears to be a natural hillock formation that would fit the meaning of "DuDaL" as "Bowl of God", though INVERTED. Next to it appears to be the opening of a PIT or cavern of some kind. I have no information about how old these features are but they fit the ancient description in the text. Since the place is called "DuDaYN" in the text and "aYN" is the Hebrew word for a "pit", a "hole", a "spring", and an "eye", the placename could be a pun meaning "eye bowl".
ReplyDeleteBut there is an equally good place further to the southwest near the Lake Tiberias. It is the Zarqaa MaYN Canyon, and from the satellite views resembles the profile of a GOAT'S head, with a deep crater forming the central shape of the head and two deep ravines branching off to the east like HORNS at what would appear to be the top of the head. Remember that AZaZaL as equated with the "GOAT demon" Asmodaeus, and THIS would have been a FITTING place for his imprisonment. But, as you point out, DuDaL was NOT to be the place of "hellfire" punishment of the damned. The text makes it clear that this was to be a rift/valley "extending to the abyss", or sea. Since "Enoch" describes this feature while "tripping" through Ethiopia as is apparent from his description of passing the "red stone" of the Aswan area, it would seem to be the great rift valley extending to the Indian Ocean at the base of the "Horn of Africa" adjacent to Ethiopia. HOWEVER, this is a LUSHLY vegetated valley and just the OPPOSITE of what "Enoch" envisions it as it will apparently become.
The NEPHELIM/NEFILIM children became CLOUDS when they died, or the "Spirits of the Air", just as the REPHAIM were the "Overshadowers" that shaded the landscape floating across the sky on a sunny day! It's ALL Nature MYTHology!!
